BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 31: Electoral Roll Observer (ERO) Bandipora Manzoor Ahmad Lone chaired a meeting here today to review the special summary revision of electoral rolls 2018-19 in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, SDM sumbal, Tehsildar Headquarter Mubashir Nazki, Tehsildar Bandipora, Nodal officer election Dr. Murtaza besides other officers of the district.

The ADC informed the Electoral Roll Observer (ERO) that all EROs and AEROs are in place in the district as per the ECI notification besides all 312 BLOs registered as voters in the concerned polling booths. He said that training has already been imparted to EROs/AEROs and separate training programmes were conducted for ROs and AROs by Master Trainers.

The ADC informed the meeting that the total voters of the district are 226008 and the EPIC percentage has touched to 97.0227 per cent. It was also given out that the total new inclusion stand as 2725 with 390 modification, 1980 deletions and 6 transpositions.

Speaking on the occasion, the ERO urged upon the participants to widen inclusion of voters in the voter list and spread the awareness among the general public regarding democracy at the grass root level. He impressed upon the EROs and AEROs to monitor the progress of enrolments in order that all eligible electors are registered in the Electoral Rolls. The ERO called for enhanced efforts for improving the cover at the earliest.
