Residence of former Cong leader attacked in Shopian
Shopian, Oct 30: Suspected militants carried out a grenade attack on the residence of a former Congress leader on Tuesday evening in south Kashmir's Shopian district.
A police official said that militants lobbed a grenade at the residence of Mohammad Shafi Banday in Bonbazar Shopian around 8:10 PM.
The grenade fell near the compound wall and exploded without causing any fatalities, he said, adding that the blast was also followed by firing.
The policemen guarding the residence of Banday also retaliated, forcing the militants to flee from the spot, said the official.
