Jammu, Oct 30: A JCB operator died when a landslide hit the Jammu-Srinagar national highway resulting in its closure for few hours in Ramban district Tuesday, police said.

The landslide on the highway at Digdool in the district on Monday night resulted in closure of the highway for traffic, they said.

While men and machines were pressed into service to clear the highway of the landslide, another landslide hit the area trapping a JCB under it, they said.

JCB operator Jamsheed (26) died in the landslide.

The highway was cleared for traffic around 8.30 am.
