Police warns people against venturing inside encounter sites

Baramulla, Oct 26: Following the killing of seven civilians in the explosion at an encounter site in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district past Sunday, police on Friday used posters and banners to warn people against going inside an encounter site in Kreeri area of Baramulla district.

Written in both English and Urdu languages, the banners and posters put up in Authoora Kreeri appealed people not to venture inside the gunfight site till the area is sanitized by the bomb disposal squad.

A police spokesman also requested people not to venture near the encounter sites.

“Citizens are once again requested not to venture inside the encounter zone since such an area can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials,” police spokesman said.

He urged the people to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosives materials, if any.
