Srinagar: Police on Thursday said they haven’t recovered the body of any militant from the site of an “ongoing gunfight” in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police spokesman in a statement said: “Encounter in Kreeri is going on. No militant body has been yet recovered. Social media updates depicting dead bodies of militants are frivolous.”
He asked the people not to pay heed to rumours.
Earlier, news gatherer GNS reported that two militants were killed in the gunfight that broke out in Athoora area of Kreeri early Thursday.
