Sports events under “Khelo India’ initiative conclude at Drass

DRASS, OCTOBER 18: A host of sports events under ‘Khelo India’ initiative concluded here today at Horse Polo Ground wherein Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Vikas Kundal was the chief guest.

Hundreds of students of the sub-division Drass participated in the games competitions in the District Kargil from October 08, 2018.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of sports in channelizing potential of the youth in a positive direction.

He said that several initiatives are under way to promote the sports activities in the district for which the directions have already been given to the concerned Sports Department and other organizations.

Highlighting the importance of the ‘Khelo India’ initiative, the DC said that the aim of launching the scheme in the State is to groom the young talent for national and international level competitions. He said sports play a key role in national integration and help youth to lead a disciplined life.
