Militants decamp with weapons from retired police officer’s residence in Budgam

Srinagar, October 14: Militants on Sunday late evening strike at retired police officer’s residence and decamped with two weapons along with magazines in Gopalpora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Reports reaching GNS said that the gunmen barged inside the retired Superintendent of Police (SP), Ghulam Mohd Gurezi at Noorani colony in Gopalpora area of Chadoora.

The gunmen over overpowered the guards of the former police officer and fled away along with two carbine rifles and four magazines.

SSP Budgam Tejinder Singh confirmed the incident and said that police team has been rushed to the spot to verify the details.

” Police has taken cognizance and further investigation taken up”, SSP said.

Soon after the incident goverment forces launched searches trace out the militants.(GNS)
