Wreath laying ceremony of slain Bomai cop held at DPL Sopore

SOPORE: A wreath laying ceremony was held at District Police Lines Sopore for slain cop Javeed Ahmad Lone Saturday morning, who was killed by suspected militants in Warpora village last night.

A police official told Kashmir Images that suspected militants barged inside the house of Javeed Ahmad Lone Son of Abdul Khaliq Lone at around 10:45pm Friday night at Warpora, who was a follower in IRP 3rd Bn and was posted at Parihaspora Pattan, and fired indiscriminately at him resulting in his on spot death.

According to the family of slain cop, Javeed was temporally residing at Warpora from last many years but was the resident of Logripora Bomai, Sopore. “The deceased is survived by wife and two children.”

Police officers led by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police North Kashmir Sunil Gupta laid floral wreaths and paid rich tributes to the slain Policeman.

Soon after the tribute Javeed’s body was handed over to his family and brought to Logripora Bomai for last rites, reports said hundreds of people participateD in his funeral as the slain cop was laid to rest in the local graveyard.

Meanwhile, Police have registered a case under FIR NO 282/2018 US 302 7/27 at Police Post Warpora and start investigation.

Speaking to Kashmir Images Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sopore Javaid Iqal Said, “Javeed was staying at home from some time now as his both kidneys were damaged. Last night militants shot him inside his house at Warpora Sopore.”

We are investigating the matter and very soon we will share the details with media as who is involved in his killing.
