JK Police to organize “JASHN-E-DAL & SHIKARA RACE”-2018: ADGP ARMED J&K

October 13:  A.K.Choudhary-IPS ADGP Armed J&K today convened and chaired a meeting of officers to discuss the arrangements for “Jashn-e-Dal & Shikara Race”- 2018 being organized by J&K Police at Nehru Park Dal Lake Srinagar from 23rd to 25th of October, 2018 under Civic Action programme of J&K Police.

In a statement issued here, a police spokesman said, “The meeting was held at Armed Police Hqrs.(APHQ) J&K Srinagar and was attended by senior officers including S.A. Watali-IPS IGP AP/ IR Kashmir, Mehmood Ahmad-SSP Staff Officer to ADGP Armed J&K,  S.S Kotwal Commandant IRP-6th , T.R Katoch Commandant AP-5th, Ab. Rashid Bhat Commandant AP-12th and Shamsher Hussain AP-13th Battalions, M.A Dalal Commandant AP-9th Bn, Bashir Ahmad Sofi Commandant SDRF 1st Bn, Masroor Ahmad Mir SSP Security Kashmir, Manzoor Ahmad SSP ACS Kashmir, Munir Ahmad SP APCR,  Manoj Kumar Pandit AIG Communication/ Welfare PHQ J&K,  Stanzin Losal ASP Traffic City,  Altaf Ahmad Naik DySP Crime,  Mohd Shafi Rather CPO APHQ,  Mushtaq Ahmad DySP (Sports) APHQ and Dr. N.D Shah Police Hospital Srinagar.”

“On the occasion A.K.Choudhary-IPS briefed the participants of meeting about the arrangements to be carried out for smooth conduct of “Jashn-e-Dal & Shikara Race-2018”. Necessary instructions were issued to the officers for initiating process to carry out various activities for foolproof arrangements of the event,” reads the statement.

“During the meeting it has been decided to ensure participation of Students of the Schools/ Colleges/ Universities and in this connection the matter shall be taken with different University Authorities, Director School Education Kashmir and State Sports council Kashmir. Handsome Prizes will be given to the participants who shall excel in different event of Shikara Race. ₹ 3.05 lacs have been earmarked as cash prizes for the winners of the different events of “Jashn-e-Dal & Shikara Race-2018”,” said the spokesman.

“Further, various issues and arrangements involved in organizing the event were discussed and deliberated in detail.  The sports events to take place during the “Jashn-e-Dal & Shikara Race-2018” include Swimming, Cano-Polo matches, Shikara Race, Water Polo, Dragon Boat Races, and Canoeing/ Kayaking for both men & women category,” the statement added
