Pulwama: Authorities imposed Curfew in Pulwama town after a local militant was killed in a brief encounter between government forces and militants on Saturday here.
According to local reports, an encounter broke out in Pulwama outskirts at around 2 am on Saturday.
A police official said a joint operation was launched by 55 RR, CRPF and SOG, and a thereof siege was laid in the cluster of houses in Babagund village. “Militants hiding in one of the residential houses fired upon government forces, triggering an encounter”, the official said adding that one militant was killed during the exchange of fire.
The slain militant was identified as Shabir Ahmad Dar of Samboora Pulwama.
