Srinagar: On the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child and to generate awareness about the importance of girl child and their education, the Army organised a lecture on “Beti Bachhao Beti Padhao” at Govt High School, Danweth Pora, Kokernag on 11 October 2018.
A defense spokesman, in a statement issued here said that during the lecture, the issue of inequality prevailing in the society was highlighted and the need to save the girl child to overcome the imbalance was also addressed.
The gathering was also made aware about the various initiatives and welfare services for women undertaken by the Government and were guided on how to utilise these schemes for their benefit and empowerment.
