SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 10: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today early morning visited various parts of Srinagar city to review the preparedness for smooth conduct of second phase polls of Urban Local Bodies for Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
DGP J&K Dilbagh Singh and IGP Kashmir S P Pani accompanied the Advisor during the visit.
The Advisor visited parts of Srinagar city where elections for Urban Local Bodies is held today for the conduct of second phase polls in the wards from 18-37 of SMC.
Later, the Advisor chaired a meeting with senior police officers at Police Control Room Srinagar and took a detailed review of the security measures put in place for the polls.
IGP Kashmir briefed the Advisor about the security and other related arrangements being made for the second phase polls in the areas falling under Srinagar Municipal Corporation and various Municipal Committees in Kashmir division.
The Advisor stressed upon the officers for better coordination and synergy and asked the officers to ensure that the appropriate security arrangements are in place for peaceful conduct of elections.
