“After sustaining burn injuries she was shifted to district hospital Bandipora from where she was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment, ” an official said.

She, however, succumbed to her injuries.

After conducting postmortem at District Hospital (DH) Bandipora, the body was handed over to her family in Nusoo village of Bandipora.

Doctors said that she had suffered 90 percent burn injuries.

“We are investigating the case from all possible angles. We have not ruled out anything yet,” said a police official.

The family members of the deceased woman alleged she was being harassed by her in-laws. They alleged that her in-laws were responsible for her death.

However, her in-laws claimed that the woman committed suicide.

A police official said that in-laws of the deceased woman have been called to Police Station Bandipora for questioning.
