Khelo-India: Block level athletic event enters day 3 at Gurha Salathia

SAMBA, OCTOBER 9:- Around 232 contestants took part in different events of athletics as the block level sports competition for Vijaypur and Ramgarh blocks entered third day today here at Sports Stadium, Gurha Salathia.

According to the venue in-charge, Mandeep Singh stood first, while Ajay Manhas and Mimesh Verma end up as first and second runner ups in 100m Race.

Similarly, Sahil Samolin took Podium position while Saraj Kumar and Nikhil Salathia end up as   first and 2nd runner-ups in 200 mtr race.

In long Jump event U17 category, Akshat Salathia (GHSS Vijaypur) was declared as winner while Shubam Sharma (GHSS Jakh) was runner-up while Amjad Ali emerged  winner and  Rishav Singh was runner-up  in shot-up event.

In Discuss Event U17, Shiv Karan Singh took winner position and Rohit Kumar as runner-up.

The Chief guest Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba, Dr. Arun Manhas congratulated the winners and gave words of appreciation to all the participants. He said participants should take Khelo-India Scheme as an opportunity to demonstrate their talent in sports and nurture it.

Also present were Tehsildar Vijaypur, BDO Vijaypur and officials of Youth Sports and Services department. The sports events were witnessed by a large number of enthusiastic spectators.
