GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 04: The District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla today flagged-off a group of 33 students representing different blocks of the district for the inter-district baseball tournament.
Interacting with the participating students, the DDC asked them to take up sports to channelize their potential in a positive direction to lead a disciplined life.
Stressing on the need to extend support and encouragement to the sports talent in the district, DDC said that such competitions will play a decisive role in encouraging the local talent. He said that sports activities have a profound and significant impact on the social and mental development of the youth.
He also appreciated the District Youth Services and Sports Ganderbal for organizing such sports competitions and expressed hope that the event would prove instrumental in giving a boost to sports culture in the district.
