Sopore, Oct 03: A butcher of Tujjer Sopore was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in broad daylight from his shop at Younsu in Chogal area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday.

Brother of the abducted butcher told ‘Kashmir Images’ on phone that family learnt from internet that Tawseef Ahmad Ganai, son of Mohmmad Afzal Ganai has been kidnapped on gunpoint from his shop at Younsu Handwara.

Witnesses said that the masked gunmen barged inside the meat shop of Towseef in the afternoon and abducted him on gun-point.

Confirming the kidnapping, SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal told ‘Kashmir Images’ that following kidnapping of the butcher, a manhunt has been launched to trace the abducted man.

A missing report has also been registered in police post Chogal Handwara.

Pertinently the abducted man hails from Tujjer village of Sopore. His elderly parents including physically-challenged father and three sisters are wailing and have appealed his abductors to spare his life.
