Wahida was missing from her home since September 26.

Pertinently, Wahida’s brother Shakeel Ahmad had also drowned in the canal in May this year after his “mysterious” disappearance from his home.

The body of the deceased was handed over to her family for last rites after medico-legal formalities, said the official.

“We are investigating both the cases,” he added.
