Kulgam: A 10-year-old boy was injured in a Kulgam area when a joint party of Army and CRPF came under stone pelting and retaliated with pelts and smoke shells.

Sources said that a joint team of Army and CRPF was moving through Kuzar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district when their vehicle were targeted by a stone pelting mob.

The forces retaliated and fired pelts and smoke shells. Some sources said that the forces also resorted to aerial firing.

A ten year boy, identified as Milad Shahnawaz Hajam was reportedly hit with pelts in his face and chest. He was rushed to hospital, reports last coming in said.

Meanwhile, some unidentified persons set ablaze a panchayat ghar at Watoo in Kulgam district.

Reports reaching here said that some unidentified persons set ablaze a panchayat ghar at Watoo village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The panchayat ghar, reports suggested was razed to ground.

Following the announcement of panchayat and municipal polls, several panchayat ghars, particularly in south Kashmir have been targeted.
