Seminar on “Public Administration” begins at GDC Sopore
BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 29: A two-day national seminar on Public Administration titled ‘Need and importance of public administration in present area’ was today inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Farooq Ahmad Baba at the main auditorium of Government Degree College Sopore.
The seminar has been organized by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in collaboration with Government Degree College Sopore.
Regional Director IGNOU Professor M A Lashkar, Principal GDC Mushtaq Ahmad, Coordinator Dr Shamim Ahmad, various academicians and officials from various other colleges were present on the inaugural day of the seminar.
ADC after inaugurating the seminar said that the Administrators have a diverse role to play in other fields other than public administration. He urged the students especially pursuing their graduation to opt for public administration as one of their subjects, so that they can efficiently go for any competitive exam including civil service examination.
Principal during his address said that their aim is to aware the stakeholders about the importance of Public administration in the present era. “Though every subject is important and has its application, but public administration has a definite importance as it deals with public and polity”, the Principal said.
