Srinagar, Sep 29: Police on Saturday claimed to have solved a hit-and-run case in Srinagar by arresting the erring driver.
On September 24, 2018 evening, an old man Syed Muzafer Shah, son of Syed Raza Shah, resident of Sharibhat, Zadibal, was mowed down by an unknown vehicle. Shah died later in the hospital, a police spokesman said.
He said the accused driver was nabbed after thorough investigation and CCTV footage of the incident.
“The accused has been identified as Akhtar Rasool Rather, son of Ghulam Rasool Rather, resident of Margalari Budgam and vehicle registered as JK05A-6921,” said the spokesman.
The police have taken the accused into custody for further proceedings, he said.
