Pulwama: Amid a spontaneous shutdown, clashes erupted in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town on Wednesday after a family here claimed that one among the five militants killed in Bandipora is their kin.
Witnesses said, soon after the news spread that a family from Kangan village in Pulwama is claiming that one of the five militants killed in encounter at Sumlar Bandipora last Friday is their kin, clashes erupted near police station Pulwama where youth hurled stones on forces who retaliated with teargas shelling and also fired few Ariel shots to disperse the protesters.

The residents of Kangan along with the family marched towards DC office to claim that the slain militant, Ab Rashid Lone, killed in an encounter last Friday at Bandipora district is their son as they were demanding the body of slain for last rites.
Earlier, a family from Hayan Kangan in Ganderbal had approached police with a similar claim that one among the five militants killed in Bandipora last week was their kin. The slain militant happens to be the same which now the Pulwama family claims as their member.
