SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25- The Finance Department today asked all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDO’s) to ensure that the details of the employees are uploaded correctly for the purpose of Group Health Insurance Scheme by or before the 30 September.

Responding to number of complaints about incorrect data, a Finance Department spokesperson said all DDO’s will be personally responsible to ensure that the details of the employees and their dependents are uploaded correctly in the software for Group Health Insurance Scheme as well as in the CPIS.

“Failure to do so would certainly invite commensurate disciplinary action as their negligence would have caused difficulties for the employees,” the spokesman said.

The Finance Department spokesman reiterated that the Group Health Insurance Scheme is “optional” for pensioners and they are required to fill the proforma as notified by the Finance Department and submit to the treasury/J&K Bank branch from where they are drawing the pension. “This also needs to be completed by all pensioners, who opt for the Scheme, by 30th September, 2018,” the spokesman said.

“It is also clarified that those who are in receipt of medical allowances at a higher rate than Rs.3600 per annum, in their case only Rs.3600 is subsumed and balance amount they would continue to receive as medical allowances,” he said.

The Finance Department has also clarified that those AIS Officers who are retired and their families covered under CGHS Scheme, their spouse working with J&K Government may not opt for the Group Health Insurance Scheme, if they so desire.
