Srinagar, Sep 22: A man was critically injured after a bear attacked him near his home at Teli Mohalla in Lar tehsil of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district last evening.

An official said that 41-year-old Mohammad Ashraf Hajam of Teli Mohalla Lar was heading towards his home when a bear appeared from a maze field and attacked him.

The passersby raised an alarm following which the bear ran away, leaving Hajam in a pool of blood.

A police party from Lar police station rushed to the spot and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital, wherefrom he was referred to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment.
