Directorate of I&C holds workshop on ‘J&K Single Window Act-2018’

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 20: A one-day workshop on the ‘Single Window’ system was organized today here at the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Jawahar Lal Nehru Udyog Bhawan, Railhead Complex, Jammu.

Director, I&C, Jammu, Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma addressed the officers and threw light on the recently approved `J&K Single Window (Industrial Investment and Business Facilitation) Act-2018′, which has been recently approved by the State Administrative  Council.

Dr Sharma asked the officers of the department to facilitate the young entrepreneurs to set up their enterprises by providing all necessary information and hand holding. He stressed upon them to create a conducive environment for the entrepreneurs, in the present era of globalization and technological advancement, so that state emerges as most sought after investment destination by the investors.

He informed that the enactment of the Act was a part of the state’s flagship initiative of promoting ‘Ease of Doing Business; and aimed at making doing of business much easier and facilitate a hassle-free business-friendly environment in the state. With the minimum physical touch point with official hierarchy and provision of deemed clearances, the ease of doing business in the state of Jammu and Kashmir will increase in future, he added.

Experts like Vishal Moga of Ernst & Young and Incharge IT Cell SICOP, Vishal Mahajan imparted hands on training to the officers and briefed about the web portal for the single window system besides explaining the details of all services being provided at the single window portal from pre-establishment, pre-operation to renewals of an enterprise.

It was further informed that the services of more than 12 departments had been brought at the doorsteps of people in online mode under a single umbrella.

An interactive session was also held during the day-long workshop. Besides, discussions were also held on minimum physical intervention with official hierarchy and provision of deemed clearances in the bill and the manner in which it will improve the Ease of Doing Business in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

Joint Directors of Industries, Sandesh Kumar Sharma and Dr Vikas Gupta and all the General Managers, Project Managers, Functional Managers and Industrial Promotion Officers of DIC attended the workshop.
