SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 20: Principal Secretary, Animal, Sheep husbandry, fisheries and Transport department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today chaired a meeting of officials of Animal, Sheep husbandry and fisheries departments to review their working and status of various projects being implemented under different state and central sponsored schemes.

The meeting was attended by Director fisheries, Kashmir, R N Pandita, Director Animal husbandry, Kashmir, M Y Chaproo, the officials of Animal husbandry, Sheep husbandry, fisheries, Law, Finance, Planning and other concerned departments. Besides, Director Animal Husbandry, Jammu, Director Sheep husbandry, Jammu and other concerned officials from Jammu attend the meeting through video conferencing.

Dr Samoon asked the officials to carry out their professional duties with dedication and make every scheme of the department a great success.   The meeting was informed that delay in the release of funds leads to the delay in implementation of various schemes. In this regard, Dr Samoon asked the Finance department to assure the release of funds on time so that the department did not suffer, in future.

During the meeting, the insurance cover to 15,500 fishermen and the distribution of 1200 cycles and 20 auto rickshaws to fishermen for mobility was discussed threadbare. The meeting was informed that the scheme for the fisherman is being implemented on the ground and will be completed in a time bound manner.

Later, Dr Samoon launched “Online Lab reporting module”, an android based app for all the District Disease diagnosis laboratories. The app will be available on www.jkahd.net and its use shall reduce the time taken by the report to reach the field VASs as such treatment of the animals will commence earlier thus reducing the course of the ailment and saving the farmer time and resources. The app has been developed in-house by the e-Governance cell of the Directorate.
