Khelo-India: NCC Renan defeats Yansoo Xi by 33 runs

Kupwara, September 19: The inaugural match, between NCC Renan and Yansoo Xi, of District Administration and Youth Services and Sports, Kupwara Tournament was played at Shaheen playground Pandith Pora on Wednesday.

After winning the toss, NCC Renan elected to bat first and put a formidable total of 142 runs on the board in allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the set target of 143 runs, Yansoo Xi was never in the hunt as they lost wickets at regular intervals. None of their batsmen was able to perform a decent show with the willow as they lost the match by 33 runs.

Tanveer Ahmad was declared man of the match for scoring 30 runs and also bagging two wickets.

The tournament is organized by District Administration in collaboration with Youth Service & sports kupwara. The tournament is being played with the underlying theme of ‘Sports for Peace and Development’ under Khelo-India scheme. The tournament is aimed to promote sports activities in the district under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The tournament matches will take place at every zone of Kupwara under the supervision of youth service AND Sports of the Kupwara district.
