Khelo India initiative: Block Level competitions to start from Sept 1 at Poonch

KATHUA SEPTEMBER 18: District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria today reviewed the implementation of Khelo India here at a meeting of Youth services and Sports Department.

While reviewing its functioning, the DDC directed the department to formulate a plan for implementation of ‘Sports for Peace & Development’, a vertical scheme of Khelo India in order to achieve its objective at district and block levels.

“Kathua has abundance of talent and the need of the hour is to channelize it in a positive direction” he said. He impressed upon the officers to encourage the youth, especially pass out and dropouts besides school going students, to participate in sports activities for their better mind and body and to earn laurels for themselves and the State.

The DDC also impressed upon the officers to project their requirements for the smooth conduct of sporting events. He stressed on registering maximum number of participants and directed the BDOs to maintain ground wherever necessary.

ADC Kathua, Ghansham Singh Bali, ACR, Jatinder Mishra, DYSSO and ZPEOs besides the other concerned were present in the meeting.
