DC Budgam tours hailstorm hit Magam, Narbal areas to assess crop damage

BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 14: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, today visited several hailstorms hit areas in Magam and Narbal tehsils to assess the crop damages.

During her visit, she inspected apple orchards, crop fields including paddy and vegetable gardens and interacted with the affected farmers assuring them all possible help from the district administration.

The DC was accompanied by the Revenue, Horticulture and Agricultural officers. On spot, directions were given to the officers of the allied departments to prepare the tentative crop wise damage reports within one day and complete report by next three days.

Earlier, the DC directed for constituting a joint team of Revenue, Agriculture and Horticulture departments to assess the losses caused due to recent heavy rains/ hailstorm in the district particularly in Beerwah, Narbal and Magam tehsils.

Besides, she also directed the horticultural department to provide every possible help including spraying material to the affected farmers for the recovery of the crops assessed under minor damages.
