Police held Muharram and local body polls meeting in Kargil

Kargil: Police in Kargil held a meeting to discuss Muharram arrangements and local body election in district Kargil.

A statement issued by police said that Superintendent of Police Kargil Dr. Vinod Kumar held a meeting with all territorial officers and all branch incharges of District Police Office Kargil in connection with the forthcoming Muharram-ul-Haram and urban local body and panchayat elections-2018.

The meeting was also attended by Addl. SP Kargil Arun Gupta, DySP Hqrs. Kargil Mujahid-ul-Haq, DySP Traffic Wing Manzoor Ahmad, DySP SDRF Kargil Mohd Hussain and DySP Police Telecom Kargil Altaf Ahmad Dar.

After hearing all the issues, SP Kargil gave strict directions to all territorial officers to tighten their noose on criminal activities and emphasized on establishing nakas/surprise checking at all the important locations to avoid the commission of crime.

During the meeting all the issues regarding security arrangements for peaceful conduct of Muharram, Urban Local body/Panchayat Election were discussed

Additional Superintendent of Police Kargil  Arun Gupta also briefed all territorial officers to keep close surveillance over the non-local labourers and stressed on advance collection of intelligence and instant sharing of information with senior officers and Police Control Room.
