He said police had detained a few people and questioned about Teeli, but he could not be found.

After prolonged questioning, two suspects, Irshad Ahmed Wani, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, and Imtiyaz Ahmed Wani, son of Ghulam Rasool, both residents of Rishipora Khaipora Bala, confessed they had killed Teli the day he had gone missing, the spokesman said.

He said the two also confessed that they buried his body at some distance from their village in Budar Nallah.

Both the accused are cousins and the motive behind the killing has been found to be the alleged relationship of Teli with the sister of one of the accused, the official said.

Later body of the murdered youth was disinterred by a team of medical and forensic experts in presence of a Magistrate, and subsequently case (FIR no. 75/2018) under section 302 RPC was registered in Police Station Tangmarg. Body will be handed over to the legal heirs after completion of necessary medico-legal formalities, police said, adding that further investigation into the matter is going on.
