Delegation of Ladakh Buddhist Association Zanskar meets Governor

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 9: A delegation of Ladakh Buddhist Association, Zanskar, led by its President Tsewabg Chostar met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.

The delegation requested Governor to provide adequate Police protection to the Buddhist monasteries particularly those situated  in the remote region of Zanskar; shifting of the Holy Book-‘TRIPITAKAS’ from the Ranbir Library in Jammu to Library in Zanskar; providing Kail wood and Budloo at subsidized rates for construction of Gonpa Monastery  at Photang in Zanskar; accommodation at Jammu for office of the LBA and submitted an application on behalf of inhabitants of village Rangdum to bring their village under  the jurisdiction of Zanskar Tehsil.

The delegation requested directions from Governor to DC Kargil for sanctioning of various construction works and public conveniences at Photang Gonpa in Zanskar where His Holiness Dalai Lama is scheduled to deliver sermons to large number of devotees next year.

Governor assured the delegation that he would discuss all their issues with the concerned authorities and needful will be done in consideration of their projected demands.

The delegation comprised Sh. Sonam Dorjay, Tsering Mutup, Tsering Tundup Khanpo and Sonam Tarnchos.
