Budgam, Sep 08: The submitting of memorandum on Rafale Deal to Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Saturday took an ugly turn when an altercation erupted between former Congress MLA from Khansahib constituency and its district president.

The incident took place in presence of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) vice president and MLC GN Monga after the memorandum was presented to Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam.

War of words sparked when former MLA Abdul Gani Naseem told the workers “If we have grievances, we should resolve them. They only ruin the image of party”. His comment according to Naseem provoked Zahid Hussain Jan and thereby ensuing verbal brawl.

This reporter captured the whole incident in his camera.

“Hooliganism won’t work. He (Jan) thinks he is powerful. I consume a meat piece bigger than him,” Naseem could be heard saying in the video.

JKPCC workers while pacifying the situation told Naseem that “You were an MLA for six years”. To which, he replied, “Jan will not even enter Jammu and Kashmir Assembly in dreams.”

Earlier, ADC was urged to forward memorandum to India’s president Ram Nath Kovind.

While talking to ‘Kashmir Images’ about the Rafale Deal, Monga said, “Rafale scam is the biggest scam after India’s independence. Our demand is that scam should be probed by Joint Parliamentary Committee.” He added that the government lead by Narendra Modi is evading questions on the deal.
