Geelani condemns arrest of Kashmiri students in Delhi
Srinagar, September 8: Strongly condemning the arrest of two Kashmiri engineering students by Delhi Police, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani termed it as a ‘worst example of vendetta and a ploy to intimidate the student fraternity engaged in their studies in Indian educational institutions.’
In a statement issued here, Geelani termed the police action as a deliberate attempt to spoil the future of student community of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Scores of such cases can be cited as an example of involving the Kashmiri based students in fictitious cases wherein they were acquitted by the courts of law after a long trail of 15 to 16 years of ordeal,” Geelani said in the statement.
Extending his gratitude and rich tributes to the unwavering commitment and resolve displayed by the young Hurriyat leader Masrat Aalam Bhat, Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Geelani regretted the denial of justice to the prisoners of conscience belonging to the resistance movement of Kashmir.
