Mela held at Kandidowana shrine in Tanghdar

Karnah: Army in remote Tanghdar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district organised ‘Ziarat Mela’ today at Kandidowana near burf post. The mela was organised by 20RR under Shakti Vijay Brigade Tanghdar.
A defence spokesman said that the Shrine is widely “worshiped” by locals and army men alike. “Annual festivities on the shrine were organised today by the army,” he said.
He said that over 600 villagers from Nachian, Hajinar, Handwal, Khowarpara, Bagh Bela, Barwan, Jabri, Kacharian, Kandi, Zarla, Tar, Manjban, Chhota Dawana, Udura other villages of Tangdhar and nearby Bhaiks from the area attended the event with great enthusiasm and fervor.
“Special prayers were offered during the event followed by community ‘Langar’ was also organised for all devotees organised by army, the spokesman added.
