Protest, shutdown in Boniyar following mysterious killing of girl

Baramulla, Sep 03: Complete shutdown was observed in Boniyar Uri today against the mysterious death of a minor girl.

All shops and business establishments remained shut as the family alleged murder of 9-year-old Muskan Jan, whose body was found in Trikanjan forests on Sunday, ten days after she had gone missing.

Meanwhile, family members of the victim were joined by the in a protest today, demanding identification of killers. The protestors blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway, witnesses said.

Later, a police team visited the spot and assured locals of a transparent investigation. Following assurances of probe, the protesters lifted the blockade of highway.
