Khelo India initiative: Block Level competitions to start from Sept 1 at Poonch

JAMMU, AUGUST 31: The District Administration Poonch is organizing Block Level sports competitions as part of centre’s “Sports for peace and development’ initiative under “KHELO INDIA” Scheme.

The sports tournament would witness separate competitions for boys and girls in different games in   the age group of 14 to 19 years.

Speaking at a press conference here today, DC Poonch Rahul Yadav informed that the opening ceremony   will be held on 01.09.2018 and competitions will be held in Hockey, football, Cricket, Athletics and track events, Rural area sports like wrist holding, boulder lifting etc.

Initially, the competitions   will be held at Block leve District Poonch and then at District Level to bring out the promising talent of the District.

Best players will be recognized and scholarships will be provided to them.  Registrations of participants and teams are starting from 01.09.2018. Children from all Government and private school can also participate.
