Geelani pays tributes to slain militants
Srinagar, August 29, 2018: All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani while paying rich tributes to the Altaf Ahmad Dar and Umar Rashid Wani, who were killed in an encounter at Kulgam Anantnag during the preceding night, said that the present armed struggle is a sheer reaction.
“It is not a hobby of our youth engaged in an armed struggle but a reaction to occupation,” said Geelani in a statement issued here.
Condemning the use of ‘excessive force against the civil population leaving scores of men and women seriously wounded,’ Geelani termed it as a ploy to ‘suppress the people with iron fists’.
Hurriyat chairman appealed to the people of Kashmir to observe complete civil curfew on 30 and 31 August against the ‘vile conspiracies to change the Muslim majority character of the state.’
