Budgam: The main chowk of Budgam township closed in protest against hearing of plea challenging Article 35A on Monday.

Shopkeepers downed the shutters of their shops and passengers vehicles fled from here when students assembled and resorted to massive pro-freedom and pro-Article 35A sloganeering.

A group of students said that 35A is 'red line' for Kashmir and they are ready to die for it. "Article 35A safeguards our existence. We won't allow its tempering or abrogation."

Meanwhile, many private schools were closed by concerned school administration.
