  District Administration Launches Pilot “Hara Bhara” Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, AUG 25: With an objective to create clean and green Ganderbal, the District Administration has started a planned strategy which comprises of IEC (Information, Education and Communication) Campaign coupled with practical process.

In the first stage, Ganderbal Town has been preferred and work will start on two wards viz Duderhama “A” and “B”, where waste will be segregated at source, and if need be stored in separate bins and dumpers.

The Wet waste comprised of Kitchen Residue and other wet species will be converted in domestic manure. The dry waste comprising of different components i.e. Cardboard, Paper, Plastic, Metal Pieces, Building Material will be collected, segregated, recycled and the final residue to be send to landfill site.

Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Ganderbal has constituted two teams, who will regularly visit door to door and aware people about the sanitation advisories.

As soon as the two wards will be created garbage free, the process will be extended to other wards so as to make entire town clean.
