Srinagar, Aug 18: PDP president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti met Governor N N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.

Governor discussed with Mufti issues relating to the forthcoming elections to Municipalities and Panchayats and stressed that largescale participation in both these polls would go a long way in strengthening gross-root level democracy in the urban and rural areas, an official spokesperson said.

He said Mufti said that she and her party were committed to the conduct of both these polls and to the largest numbers turning out for exercising their franchise.

Governor and Mufti also discussed several other matters relating to the growth and advancement of the State.
