Congress emerging as ‘first choice’ among masses: Mir
Jammu: President JKPCC G.A. Mir has said that winds of change are blowing in Kashmir and Jammu region and Congress was emerging as the ‘first choice’ in three regions of the state in view of the ‘consistency in its policy and secular credentials’.

Still people expected them to deliver and come up to their expectations, which they utterly failed because of inherent contradictions. The two parties badly divided the people on regional and religious lines and vitiated the overall social and secular atmosphere besides failure to deal with the security environment, finally left a state of political uncertainty.” Mir was quoted as saying by the press release.
He lauded the efforts of the Governor’s administration for bringing the administration on rails and initiatives for ULB and Pvt. Elections, after nullifying the ‘regressive’ amendment in the Panchayat Raj by the PDP-BJP Govt. and restoring direct elections to Sarpanch.

He exhorted party workers to strengthen the booth units and gear up for all kinds of electoral battles in near future. PCC Chief also apprised the party delegates and functionaries at grass root levels about failures of Modi Govt. on all fronts and asked them educate the masses about the Rafale Jet deal. He said the same Rafale Jet which was sought to purchase in 540 crores is being purchased in 1650 crores by Modi Govt. The masses need to made aware about this deal.
Mir asserted that Congress would emerge as the single largest party after the next assembly elections in the state and PDP & BJP would face the worst ever defeat for their misdeeds, betrayals & failures.
Addressing the gathering Vice President PCC & MLA Inderwal G.M. Saroori charged the PDP-BJP Govt. in the state for creating a ‘mess of the whole situation’ and ‘worst ever misrule’ in the history of the state. He said that this Govt. created controversies which left the state divided on religious and regional lines. He said that Congress would stage a comeback in the next elections, as people of all sections and regions trust congress for its secular approach.
Mula Ram Vice President PCC appreciated the people of Inderwal for reposing faith in Congress party time and again and asked them to spread in the neighboring areas also to strengthen Congress.
Raman Bhalla, Vice President PCC, said that 2014 elections were held in a totally polarized atmosphere and the BJP exploited the religious emotions of people but totally surrendered for the hunger of power. People saw real face of BJP when it came to power after total surrender of their agenda.
