Dr Samoon visits Sheep Breeding Farm at Panthal

JAMMU, AUGUST 16: Principal Secretary Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today visited Sheep Breeding Farm Panthal and reviewed its functioning. Principal Secretary was accompanied by Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Director Animal Husbandry Dr. Victor Koul.

During the visit, Dr. Samoon stressed for putting extra efforts for development of sheep and goat sector as the department has a major role in development of small ruminants’ sector to upgrade the socio-economic status of rural masses of the state.

The Principal Secretary also inspected infrastructure of the farm and asked the departmental functionaries to manage these farms on modern scientific lines so that they serve as role model for the private breeders which will on the other hand help in development of livestock sector in the state.
