Srinagar, Aug 15: A man drowned after slipping into a canal of a power house at Sarch-Bala in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday.
An official said that Zubair Ahmed Khan (35) of Sarch-Bala Nunar slipped into the Preng-Ganderbal water canal of Ganderbal power house near his house.
He said the body of the deceased was retrieved from the canal after hours of joint efforts by locals and the police.
The body was shifted to District Hospital Ganderbal for medico-legal formalities, he said, adding that the body was later handed over to the family for last rites.
