The protesters alleged that Hussain was arrested under well thought-out conspiracy by the Sambha police.

“He is an innocent person who was fighting for the rights of downtrodden Gujjar community. If raising voice against injustice is a crime then we admit Talib Hussain is a criminal,” said Mohammad Yasin Poswal a Gujjar leader.

Poswal said Talib was arrested on the directions of right wing RSS with the aim to drain out Muslims from Rassana and other villages.

He said some communal elements with aim to drive out Muslims from Jammu region have been inflicting miseries upon suppressed Muslims on one pretext or the other.

“We want Talib Hussain to be released without delay else twenty five lakh Gujjars from across the state will start agitation,” Poswal added.

He appealed Governor administration and higher-ups of state police to expedite investigations into Talib Husain’s case so the facts come to fore.
