DDC Bandipora for greater coordination between LDs, bankers

BANDIPORA, AUGUST 11: District Development Commissioner (DDC),  Bandipora,  Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary stressed  on greater coordination between the Bankers and various Line departments (LDs), especially Social Welfare Department, to yield maximum benefit from various centrally sponsored schemes including Aasra, Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojna, Jeevan Jyoti Yojna, PMSGY, APY, Debit and Credit cards. He also stressed for improved performance of banking to ensure better service delivery in the district.

The DDC said this while chairing a joint meeting of Bankers and Officers of Social Welfare Department, held here, today.

The Objective of the meeting was to review the implementation of AASRA and other Social Security Schemes of Social Welfare Department.

The meeting discussed threadbare various issues and removed bottlenecks on the spot.

The meeting also took various decisions to make the banking system more result – driven.

On the occasion, the DDC asked for making a calendar of activities and stressed for strictly acting upon the calendar so that all bankers and officers know about their priorities.

Meeting also took decision to make District Level Task Force Committee more active and useful and stressed the need for obtaining NOC from banks so that only genuine candidates get selection for availing loan facilities.

Giving details of the achievements of various schemes, it was given out in the meeting that number of beneficiaries under AASRA Scheme has reached to 2048. The number of operative accounts has gone up to 399929, of which 212261 accounts are Aadhar seeded.

The DDC asked bankers to work with added dedication so as to make saturation in these schemes. He urged for opting Sumbal block for this purpose and directed concerned to work for attainment of objective. He also asked for reconciliation between bankers and departments to clear the pendency of cases.

SSP, Bandipora, Shiekh Zulfikar Azad; Chief Planning Officer, Abdul Majeed, District Social Welfare Officer, Altaf Hussain, Lead District Manager, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Culster Heads of JK Bank, JKGB, FLCC , various Branch managers and other concerned attended the meeting.
