ACC Dachnipora defeats City Club Anantnag by 2 runs

Anantnag, Aug 10: ACC Dachnipora in a nail biting competition on Friday defeated City Club Anantnag by 2 runs in the ongoing Mirza Galib T20 cricket tournament at GDC Anantnag.

Batting first, ACC Dachnipora posted a target of 134 runs for the host team, Shahnawaz Ahmad opening batsman of ACC Dachnipora scored 32 runs, while as Yawaz Ahmad scored 36 runs for his team.

ACC Dachnipora was restricted at 133 runs with its 4 wickets down in allotted 20 overs of the game, which seemed to be easy to chase for City Club Anantnag.

But superb bowling by Shalaal Ahmad of ACC Dachnipora clinched an improbable victory for his team and defeated the host in the last over, when CC Anantnag needed 6 runs out from 6 balls with 2 wickets in hand.

However, bowling of ACC Dachnipora was impressive who kept fighting, spurred on by noisy support from crowd when Shaalal held his nerve at the right time and bowled a superb last over.

For City club Annatnag Bilal Shah scored 57 runs and Ishtiyaq Ahmad scored 32 runs, while as rest of players could not stand against the bowling attack of ACC Dachnipora and could score only 132 runs.

Shaalal of ACC Dachnipora was awarded man of the match for his superb last over in which he gave away just 3 runs.
