SRINAGAR, AUGUST 09: On the direction of Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, the massive awareness campaign about Measles-Rulella vaccination campaign, started by the district administration in Srinagar to educate people about the benefits of vaccination and impacts of this disease, in Srinagar, the department of Health and Family Welfare, organized series of awareness programmes in Education Zone Gulab Bagh, Zaldagar and S. R. Gunj today. Such programmes in Education Zone Batamaloo have already been completed.

Awareness programmes were held in various government as well as in private schools of Education Zone, Gulab Bagh, where health educators and experts of District Task Force (DTF), WHO, UNICEF and Health department gave detailed awareness to the children about the benefits and impacts of Measelles-Rulella.

In Zaldagar, the awareness programme was organized in M P Higher Secondary School during which a large number of children participated. Likewise, such programme was organized in medical institutions in S.R, Gunj.

The district administration under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar, Dr. Talat Jabeen has been fully geared up to sensitize the people and get their children vaccinated during the campaign and prevent them from various diseases in future.

The nationwide campaign is starting all over in the country from 1stSeptember, 2018 which will be completed in 6 weeks. In the Srinagar district as many as 4, 69,300 children between 9 months to 15 years are targeted to be administered vaccines to prevent them from this disease.
