Dr Samoon discusses formulation of Mobility Action Plan for JK

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 02: Principal Secretary, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Transport Department, Dr. Asgar Samoon today convened a meeting of the Transport Department to chalk out the Road Map for the formulation of Mobility Action Plan of the State.

Transport Commissioner, Secretary (Technical), Transport Department, J&K, Director Finance, Transport Department, Additional Secretary, Transport Department & Deputy Director (P&S) and Traffic Advisor, Transport Department attended the meeting.

A threadbare discussion was held on the current mobility challenges like emission, congestion, model imbalance, safety, affordability, service quality, consumer adoption, infrastructure, institutional framework, availability of resources and steps required to be taken for achieving vision of transforming mobility which will ensure seamless, safe, cleaner, interconnected and accessible, inclusive with gender equality, economic and affordable with possible employment generation for youth.

The Principal Secretary directed the Transport Commissioner to prepare the action plan immediately for placing before the State Task Force for approval prior to submission of the same to the NITI Aayog, Government of India.

Later, Dr. Samoon also convened a meeting to discuss the issues related to rationalization of budgetary schemes and matters related to farm duties in Animal & Sheep Husbandry Department.

The meeting was attended by the Director Sheep Husbandry, Kashmir, Director Sheep Husbandry Department, Jammu, Director Finance, Animal/Sheep Husbandry Department, Director Planning, Animal & Sheep Husbandry Department.
