KISHTWAR, JULY 31: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) fined 25 traders after they were found flouting certain provisions during a market checking launched on the eve of Machail Yatra.
A team of Legal Metrology, under the supervision of Assistant Controller conducted extensive market checking in Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas including Padyarna, Karthai, Kajai, Kundal, Atholi, Gulabgarh and adjoining areas of Paddar.
The team charged Rs Ten thousand from 25 erring Traders for violation of J&K Weights and Measures Enforcement Act and Rules.
The team directed the traders to use only verified weighing and Measuring Instruments and charge as per MRP printed on the packaged items from the consumers.
