Maraaz Cultural Sangam organizes Mehfil-e-Mushaira

SHOPIAN, JULY 30: Maraaz Cultural Sangam Shopian organised a mehfil-e-Mushaira in collaboration with Govt. Degree College Shopian and Jammu & Kashmir Cultural Academy at Shureeda Hall Degree College Shopian here today.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Parvaiz Sajad Ganie, who was chief guest on the occasion, lauded the role of poets, poetesses and writers for their contribution towards the promotion of literature.

He said that their contribution not only enriches the Kashmiri culture, but also portrays the picture of Kashmir’s tradition and customs.

The programme was presided over by the Principal Degree College Shopian.

Various prominent poets participated in the Mushaira including Shahzada Rafiq, President Maraz Cultural Snagam, Najee Munawar, Gulzar Ahamd Wani and Roohi Jan and others.

Three books were also released on the occasion which were written by Najee Munawar, Gulzar Ahamd Wani and Roohi Jan.

The participants said that such functions provide platform to literary and creative activities and help in their nourishment and further spread.
